Ag - whenever I go back to Ban Dan, the local restaurants try and "ease me back into the food".

The steps from ferang to "full-on-local" are less than subtle, however, and for the first few days I seem to attract an audience curious to see how I cope.

Is Yak and Yeti a generic name or is there actually a loose chain of some sort? I think there is another one somewhere in Lewisham/Bromley or thereabouts...

Mr Rawlinson today told MailOnline he was left unable to walk and suffered swollen intestines, severe cramping, loss of stomach lining and still had a ‘constricted digestive track’.

‘I’m fine and out of hospital now but I can’t pee,’ he said.

‘When I pee, it hurts really badly.’

There is a great Nepalese restaurant in Crystal Palace called "Yak and Yeti" - I had no idea of that particular food but it was very good.

Yeah we got a Yak and Yeti in Leigh that I venture to 2 or 3 times a year normally with my old school MATES (after a game of golf)... great food

You are not eating the spicy stuff frequently enough mate eat it every day and no pain at all, breaking your arse in like breaking in a pair of shoes

Re: Tobasco
There is a shop in East Dulwich just across the road from Peckham Rye Park called "Hop Burns and Black"

A hipster joint which sells beer in bottles and cans (hops) plays vinyl on a Technics turntable (black) but also sells a pretty extensive selection of hot sauces from around the world (burns)

Some of them are inedible...there is no fucking point putting them on your food but they look quite impressive all stacked up on the shelves

Re: Tobasco
I had a tobacco "selection box" for Christmas a few years back, theres a tobacco sauce made with Habanero peppers which is much hotter and much nicer than the original.

Also got bought a bottle of psycho juice last year (seems to be a theme) which is made from ghost chillies, completely blew my head off at first but now I use it on a lot of things, crazy how you can adapt so quickly to things.

But yeah the morning after I use it on anything is not fun.

1. Indian/Bengal/Pakistan/Nepalese
2. Mexican
3. Chinese
4. Turkish
5. American (some great fiery sauces on ribs and chick)

... Thai is bottom of my list... the meals I have had have been pretty bland and tasteless...

It's not nice when you are TERRIFIED to squeeze one out as you'll know you'll be gripping the pan with sweat cascading off your forehead like Yosemite falls and screaming like Dicksie 3 justifying how great his seat is in the Cesspit...

Re: Tobasco
serious question:

Are Chilli's and Peppers the same thing?

I love Indian food, Thai food and happily eat raw chilli in salads etc (not necessarily massively hot, but I like the flavour)

but then can't stand Tabasco, Holy Fuck, Encona etc - not the heat, just really don't like the taste -

just wondered if there is a difference between chili used in cooking, vs what are generally known as hot pepper sauces
